Our Values

The Presence of God

We believe that authentic worship is the only logical response to God’s love. Every time we gather together, we expect the Holy Spirit to move in a special way. Because of Christ’s sacrifice, we believe we can experience intimacy with the Father. God’s love changes our hearts (Ps. 16:11, 139:7, 145:18, Jer. 29:13, Heb. 4:16, Hab. 2:14, Jas. 4:8).

Children and Youth

We believe that God can change a young person’s heart, making a lifelong impact on their lives. One child, devoted to Christ, can change negative generational habits (Deut. 6:5-7, Ps. 127:3, Prov. 22:6, Mt. 18:5, 1 Tim. 5:1-2, Titus 2:3-8).

Authentic Relationships

We believe that authentic relationships are an important part of our spiritual growth. 1 Corinthians 13 is our example of how to love one another. We count it a privilege to be a part of the Calvary family, honoring, encouraging, and serving one another in love (Jn. 15:12, 17, 1 Cor. 13, 1 Jn. 4:12).

Remaining a Multi-Ethnic Congregation

We believe that we are a community created by the Holy Spirit consisting of a culturally diverse people. While our commitment is to the Kingdom of God and the values established by Jesus, we celebrate the diverse cultures and backgrounds of the Calvary family (1 Cor. 12:13, Gal. 3:28, Rev. 7:9-10).

The Word of God

We believe the Bible is inspired by the Holy Spirit, and is the ultimate authority in our lives. We are committed to the renewing of our minds and conforming our beliefs to God’s truth. God’s Word contains the power to change our lives (2 Tim. 3:16-17, Jn. 17:17).

Grace

We believe that God’s grace alone qualifies us to become sons and daughters of God. While the Holy Spirit empowers us to live victorious lives, we put our trust for salvation in God’s grace alone. (Jn. 1:12-13, Eph. 2:8-9).

Joy and Freedom

We believe that as a redeemed community, JOY should be one of our most evident characteristics. The Holy Spirit sets our hearts and minds free from strongholds of many kinds. Our appreciation is expressed in our worship (Jn. 15:11, Gal. 5:22-23, 1 Pt. 1:6-9).
